Frauenhaus Liechtenstein
The first women's emergency shelter in Liechtenstein was opened on May 1, 1991, and it is now impossible to imagine Liechtenstein without the women's shelter.
The Association for the Protection of Abused Women and their Children, which runs the women's shelter, was officially recognized by the government as a private social welfare provider in 1999. Two years later, the new law on the protection against violence - the right to protection against violence in the private or family sphere - was also a major milestone. The core message of this law is that responsibility for violence always lies with the person who perpetrates it. Those affected by violence are entitled to protection, safety and support.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ADVICE CENTER
Regardless of whether they are admitted, we also inform women on an outpatient basis about their legal options, offer professional support and help to clarify their goals. We also look for possible solutions and changes for the individual situation. We offer free and non-binding advice.
The new premises in the House of Families in Schaan also enable us to refer those affected to other institutions and specialist agencies and their support services.
